Should I buy after a market drop?

A calm answer for investors deciding whether a decline is a rebalancing moment, a contribution moment, or just a moment to leave the plan alone.

Maybe, but not because the chart looks dramatic. Adding after a drop can make sense if you are following a contribution plan, rebalancing a diversified portfolio, or deploying cash that was already designated for long-term investing.

It makes less sense if the decision is being driven by fear of missing a rebound five minutes after a panic about the decline.
